Going further into Guake
Guake is a Free and Open Source project, as such the code is free to use, check, modify and redistribute. However Guake is developed and maintained by a very little number of people, so if you have any idea, wishes, knowledge on the code, on artwork feel free to register to this trac and open bugs.
Our mailing list is hosted by our mailman, please register to follow the development of guake and the discussion around it, or just to ask for help.
Also feel free to drop by the IRC chan (#guake on irc.freenode.net) to ask any questions you may think about :-)
Registration
To create a new account in Guake bts, click in the link register in the top right corner of page and choose an user and a password, you should fill the name/email fields too, but it's not required.
Getting Guake code
Guake is using git version control, and to get its code, please execute the following command in a terminal
$ git clone git://git.guake.org/guake.git
Development process

Translation
For our translations we are using the project Transifex. You can therefore, register there, get the po file on the page of the project, translate it and having it directly committed to the sources. Feel free to do so, we adopted Transifex to make your life easier.
