Intro and license
EMA stands to Event MAnager and, as its name says, it was wrote to manage (free software) meetings. EMA is a free software licensed under the terms of the GPLv2+. We're planning to move it to use the Affero GPLv3 license, but it was not done yet.
Getting EMA
No release was done yet, if you would like to take a look at it, you can use the following command to get the code from our git repository:
$ git clone http://git.alfaiati.net/ema.git
A bit of history
The first version of EMA was wrote to be used in EMSL (Encontro Mineiro de Software livre) a free software meeting that happens in Minas Gerais (a Brasil state). In 2008 this system was improved and we started to remove some specific code to make it possible to use it to manage other meetings and events.
How you can help EMA
- Coding: We're allways (at least one time per year, some months before our meeting) looking for developers to help us in this system. If you know something about python and django, please, get the code and help us making it better.
- Translating: We choosen English as the first language of our system to make it easyer to other people (non portuguese speakers) to use it but now we need at least a pt_BR translation to use it in our meeting.
